Changes at UK NEQAS ICC & ISH: Financial and Future Arrangements

Dear UK NEQAS ICC & ISH Participant,

I am writing to let you know that as a result of the NHS Histopathology service housed at University College London (UCL) for many decades now moving out, the UK NEQAS ICC & ISH Scheme will also be moving to a new host.

Discussions are currently underway with the proposed host and it is very likely that an agreement will be successfully concluded within the next few weeks. As soon as that agreement is finalised we will be writing again to let you know.

VERY IMPORTANTLY, and regardless of what our final hosting arrangements are, the financial arrangements for the UK NEQAS ICC & ISH Scheme will be changing with immediate effect and subscriptions will no longer be payable to UCL, but will be collected by:

External Quality Assessment Services for Cancer Diagnostics CIC

External Quality Assessment Services for Cancer Diagnostics CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that is wholly under the direction of UK NEQAS ICC & ISH the UK NEQAS Executive Board of Trustees

Subscription forms have been emailed out previously, the new bank details can be found here.

Please ensure that all PURCHASE ORDERS should be raised to:

“EXTERNAL QUALITY ASSESSMENT SERVICES” and not UCL

Our hosting changes will inevitably impact somewhat on the service while we are in transition by delaying some of the dispatch and return dates. The estimated dates for the dispatch and return for assessments is set out below, but may be subject to change during the transition phase.

1ST APRIL 2017– 31ST MARCH 2018 (RUN 118 – 121)

RUN   DISPATCH DATE RETURN DATE ASSESSMENTS DATE
118/47   15th May 16th   June 03rd Jul – 28st July
119/48   14th August 15th September 02nd – 20th October
120/49   06th November 08th December 2nd – 19th January 2018
121/50   05th February 09th March 26st March – 13th April 2018

Once the transfer has been completed, we will continue to offer the full repertoire of Modules that have been available previously and will enhancing the service by adding new ones. For example EQA for PD-L1, which is just about to complete its pre-pilot phase.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions related to the above. I will write again with an update on the new hosting arrangements as soon as the process has been completed.

Yours sincerely

Keith Miller UK NEQAS ICC & ISH Scheme Director
